Mark

Mark is 40 of mixed heritage and was adopted by his white parents at the age of 6 months. He talks about his experience as a young child growing up in South London. How his skin colour not only had an effect on how he was treated but on his family, in particular his mother. Sometimes not accepted by white or black people because of his mixed parentage.

Mark talks about growing up and discovering he was gay and how this was received by family, friends and society at large. In particular, experiences in the workplace. Throughout his life he can give examples of being discriminated against because of his colour, his sexual orientation and sometimes both. Having recently entered into a civil partnership Mark witnesses huge extremes of acceptance within society today.
