David

David is a qualified teacher including “English as a foreign language”. He is a news journalist by profession.

David previously ran a company that produced two LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans) publications: Brighton and Hove only has such newspaper and a national magazine aimed at gay men. He regularly gives talks on LGBT issues and has spent much time in his adult life working as a volunteer in various LGBT community projects including community safety, Brighton Pride, community research projects and as a telephone counsellor for a national LGBT help line.

David talks about his life and uses objects to share his life experiences as a gay person from his schooldays through to the present day. Using personal stories he helps to present the issues and challenges affecting gay people today as well as celebrating some of the major social advances witnessed in the community at large in the past decade.
